JUNE — High-Use Season Means High Responsibility
Share
Summer is when everything comes alive. Trails fill up. Campgrounds buzz. The places we love see more people than any other time of year.
That visibility is both a gift and a responsibility.
High-use seasons amplify impact. Muddy trails are damaged faster. Wildlife is more easily disturbed. Small mistakes add up quickly when use is high.
This is when stewardship matters most.
During summer, MWRA shifts into action mode—projects, outreach, education, and boots-on-the-ground work. But individual choices matter just as much as organized efforts.
Waiting for trails to dry. Respecting closures. Teaching kids why staying on route matters. Leading by example when others are watching.
Summer is when we show what responsible recreation really looks like.
